Each airline has its own conditions for carrying animals, and while these conditions are a bit similar, there are some important differences that you should take into account when choosing which to travel with.

Nouvelair allows the transport of dogs, cats and birds; in the cabin and in the hold of the aircraft, as long as the flight lasts six hours or less.

In total, only four animals are allowed per flight and one animal per passenger. Likewise, all animals must be clean and in their respective cages.

Animals in the cabin

In order for your pet to travel with you in the cabin of the aircraft, it must meet the following conditions:

  • Travel in a container measuring no more than 48x30x25 cm.
  • Weigh a maximum of 7 kilos with the included container.
  • Be over 8 weeks old.
  • Have a vaccination card
  • Current rabies vaccine.
  • Certificate of good health issued by a veterinarian (original and copy)

The certificate will be valid for up to 5 days from the date of issue. Letterhead will be requested with the professional identification number printed and in addition, it must include the following information: name and address of the owner. Breed, sex, age and color of the animal.

Dog, cat or other animal in the hold of the aircraft

If your pet does not meet the conditions to travel in the cabin, you will need to document it so that it can travel in the hold of the aircraft.

As long as you meet these conditions:

– Weigh a maximum of 45 kilos with the cage included.

– Be over 8 weeks old.

– That the cage is large enough for the animal to move around freely.

In all cases, your animal must have been vaccinated against rabies within a period not exceeding 30 days.
